Kloee began her life in Calgary on Aug 9, 2002.  She was one of eight female puppies out of the first litter from Hotchoklit Kennels.  Her proud new dad, Dr. Paul Neider DVM, was so excited to finally have a little brown dog of his own.  In typical lab fashion, Kloee soon learned how to open her own food bag, chew drywall and speaker wires, and destroy a plant in less than 30 seconds!  Ah the joys of watching a lab puppy grow up!  

Kloee’s first encounter with water occurred when her fetch toy ended up in the Bow River.  Without even thinking, she jumped in and began to paddle.  She seemed amazed at her own abilities, and proceeded to bring back her toy.  Since that day, any accessible water is a magnet for her.  She will even go out of her way to walk through even the smallest puddle!

Obedience came easily for Kloee; she learned her basic skills quickly.  She will do anything for a small treat or a chance to retrieve one of her toys.  Her temperament has been outstanding, always enjoying meeting other people and canine friends.  As the ‘office manager’ at her dad’s veterinary hospital, she enjoyed lounging in the office and lunchtime games of fetch. 

         She has retired from office work now, focusing more on her agility and obedience careers.  Working with her mom, trainer Kim Boyes, Kloee has earned many titles in the past year.  She continues to develop her skills and will be competing in numerous trials in 2009.  She is a joy to have in our family and we look forward to many more years with Kloee, our sweet brown lab!
